Articles of Faith 9

Articles of Faith 9 -

We believe all that God has arevealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet breveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

We believe that God have not ceased to speak to the people today.  We know that God have called prophets for this dispensation to reveal His secrets.  He still have many great knowledge that He haven't revealed, but will reveal unto us.  In Amos 3: 7, it tells us that God will do nothing except reveal His secrets to his servants, the prophets.

On the picture are two scriptures that are of importance to the people of this time.  Mormon 9:7 and Galatians 1: 12.  In the first scripture it say: And again I speak unto you who adeny the revelations of God, and say that they are done away, that there are no revelations, nor prophecies, nor gifts, nor healing, nor speaking with tongues, and the binterpretation of tongues;

In the following verses, 8 to 10:
 8 Behold I say unto you, he that denieth these things knoweth not the agospel of Christ; yea, he has not read the scriptures; if so, he does not bunderstand them.
 9 For do we not read that God is the asame byesterday, today, and forever, and in him there is no cvariableness neither shadow of changing?
 10 And now, if ye have imagined up unto yourselves a god who doth vary, and in whom there is shadow of changing, then have ye imagined up unto yourselves a god who is not a God of miracles.

Those who denies that revelations still come from God, does not understand the scriptures.  In doing so, they claim that God is changeable being.  Do we not search the prophets of the Old and New Testament?  For they have prophets during their eras.  Why not today?  Those who believe that God is a different person than He was before, imagined up unto themselves a god that is not the God of miracles.  In doing so, they have disobeyed one of the Ten Commandments which say, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me".

In Galatians 1: 12: For I neither received it aof man, neither was I taught it, but bby the crevelation of Jesus Christ.

According to what the second scripture said, what knowledge was received wasn't received of mortal men.  It wasn't even taught in schools.  It have been revealed through revelations.  We can see that is true from Peter's example.  When Jesus asked what his disciplines believed in, Peter spoke: Thou art the Christ, the Son of Living God.  Matthew 19: 19.  As we see from what Jesus responded, Peter did not know it from any other man.  He received the knowledge from the Holy Ghost.  It's by the power of the Holy Ghost that we receive revelations, receive the gifts of visions, and so on.

Have He ceased to reveal His secrets?  No, He have not ceased to be an unchangeable being.  He's the same forever and ever.  There have been those who said that Jesus Christ completed the work, that He have destroyed the prophets, when he said on the cross, "It's finished."  Nothing could be further from the Truth.  Jesus Christ did not destroy the prophets, nor the Moses' Laws.  Jesus Christ had finished what His Father have sent Him to Earth to perform.  Which is the establishment of His Church, the Apostles, the Atonement, and to fulfill what the prophets had said about Him.  Now, the word fulfill does not mean to destroy, but to complete them.

To expand a little upon the word fulfill.  Jesus Christ did not come to destroy the Laws of Moses, nor the prophets.  The Laws of Moses was given as a type.  To turn the people's hearts to their God.  It represents the Messiah Jesus Christ.  When He came here and sacrificed His own life, he completed what the purpose of the Laws of Moses.  He provided a new higher laws for us to follow so that we will be perfect even as He is.  I will be using an analogy in this question.  For those who have played games of any kind.  The goal of the games is to reach your objections.  Now, what happens if you completed the objections?  You fulfilled the purposes of the games.  You did not destroy the goals of the game, instead you completed them and do not need to worry about them.  That's the goal.  Jesus Christ came here to fulfill the goals of the Laws.  We still have to follow them, but their purposes had been completed.  As for the prophets, they was not destroyed.  They had prophesied of Jesus Christ's coming.  That had been fulfilled.  What they said when inspired by the Holy Ghost had been accomplished.

Today, as I've already bore my testimony, we still have prophets through whose the Lord God have revealed His secrets regarding the Kingdoms of Heaven.  Without the prophets, we will not know of these things.  The Bible have spoke somewhat about the Kingdoms, but not everything had been revealed, so He called a prophet in this time to reveal how we can return to Him again.  Prophet Joseph Smith is the prophet of God.  He truly translated the ancient records of the Americas and revealed that Jesus Christ did visit the people of this continent.  Today, we still have a prophet.  His name is Thomas S. Monson, who currently receives revelations for the world at wide.  Jesus Christ currently is the Head of this Church and He leads the Church through the prophets.
